Beard is the 5th full-length album from Mintaka, and the Guinness World Records title holder for most handshakes ever recorded on a single album, although this was disputed by Jerry Seinfeld.

Beard continues in the style Mintaka adopted on War Potatoes, combining short pieces in the mode of their debut album with avant-garde experimentalism. "We Should Bang" was a collaborative effort, written with lyrics about how Joey Gladstone learned a life lesson, and dedicated to a college friend of Peabody's.
